Interep’s Hispanic Independent Television Sales Signs Representation Agreement with Spanish Broadcasting System’s WSBS-TV (Mega TV) in Miami

Interep’s (IREP.PK) Hispanic Independent Television Sales (HITS) announced today that it has signed a representation agreement with Spanish Broadcasting System’s WSBS-TV (Mega TV) in Miami. HITS was formed recently to serve the national ad sales representation needs of independent Hispanic television stations.

Tom Marsillo, President of HITS, said, “Mega TV is an emerging force in Spanish-language television. We are extremely enthusiastic about telling advertisers about Mega’s ability to deliver target audiences.”

Raul Alarcon, Chairman, Spanish Broadcasting System, said, "I am particularly pleased to expand our long-standing (radio) relationship with Interep through the exclusive representation of Mega TV by Interep's HITS division. I am confident of HITS' ability to deliver national revenues commensurate with Mega TV's increasing importance in the U.S. Hispanic market."

HITS helps independent Hispanic stations capitalize on advertisers’ growing interest in reaching that burgeoning ethnic marketplace. HITS is the country’s only independently operated Hispanic television sales rep firm.

WSBS-TV/Mega TV has emerged as an aggressive and dynamic local station in the South Florida marketplace, offering an extensive slate of original Hispanic programming along with exclusive integration opportunities for advertisers.  In 2007, the station secured national distribution via DirecTV Mas, which carries Mega TV on channel 405 in the US and will launch in Puerto Rico on DirecTV basic starting on February 27, 2008.

Mega TV’s programming includes “Radio en TV” the dynamic morning radio shows of El Cucuy in Los Angeles and El Vacilon in NY broadcast on TV in a new reality format; Mega News, a daily news magazine show; Paparazzi TV, a high-energy hour devoted to the latest celebrity gossip; Chocolate con Pimienta, a dramatic serial; Maria Elvira Live- a primetime news magazine; Esta Noche Tu Night a comedy/variety show with well-known comedian and actor Alexis Valdes and Bayly, featuring interviews conducted by Jaime Bayly, recognized as one of the best interviewers on Hispanic TV; Mega Cine Presenta, a compilation of the best Latin American movies of yesterday and today; Mega Kids, a three hour kids cartoon block; and more.
